The book collects the papers for the geography training course “Aspetti geologici, geomorfologici, antropici e paesaggistici sul Gruppo delle Tofane e Altopiani ampezzani”, under the scientific direction of G.B. Pellegrini, formerly professor of Geomorphology at Padua University and member of the scientific board of the G. Angelini Foundation. The training course has been jointly organised by the G. Angelini Foundation and the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation, together with the CAI section of Cortina d’Ampezzo, in collaboration with Parco Naturale Dolomiti d’Ampezzo, Regole Ampezzane and the Cortina d’Ampezzo Municipality.

The book describes in details the two itineraries followed during the field trips included in the training course, marked on a topographic map with the thematic stops highlighted. Thanks to these itineraries, it was possible to look at the landscape with a multidisciplinary approach, typical of geography, taking into consideration the geological, geomorphological, floristic and vegetation, historical and anthropic point of view; they represent the main characteristics of the mountains and plateaus of the Ampezzo region, focus of the course.
